Birthday 2010

It was Hunter's choice of where to go for his birthday dinner. I was afraid he was going to choose Chili's because that seems to be his favorite place to eat but my least favorite place. I was so happy when he chose to stay home, watch a movie, order pizza, open his gifts and eat cake.

Basketball

Hunter really likes basketball and has been playing in a league at Desert Breeze Rec Ctr for the past 3 seasons. This season he is playing for Coach Ken and so far they are undefeated. It's the best season so far. Go Nuggets!!!

Time Flies

I can hardly believe that in just a few days, Hunter will be 12 years old. It seems like just yesterday that this picture was taken. Where did the time go?

Silly Glasses

What do you think of Hunter's 6th grade school picture? I love it! Of course this isn't his real school picture but it is kind of funny. We were at Party City the other day and Hunter found these silly glasses and wanted to wear them all over the store. He is such a clown. One characteristic he picked up from his Grandpa Larry...he loves to clown around and tease people. Grandpa would be so proud.

Hunter Graduates from Elementary School

Hunter graduated from 5th grade and is excited but a little nervous about starting 6th grade in the Middle School. 5th grade was fun for him. He studied hard and ended the year with mostly "A's" but there were a few "B's"in there as well. His class had the "Great American Challenge" which required him to learn and name past and present presidents, the Gettysburg Address, the Star Spangle Banner, the Preamble to the U.S. Constitution, and all of the states and their capitals. I was very proud of him being able to accomplish this and even though I hate to admit it, I don't remember those things. He received a trophy for completeing the challenge which he was proud to show off. He also completed and graduated from the D.A.R.E. program this year. He learned a lot of things this past year, had good teachers, made some great friends and had a lot of fun. Hey...is his cap on backwards???

Hiking

Hunter is about to get his Arrow of Light badge in scouts but before doing so we had to go on a hike. Here are a few pictures of our 3.5 mile hike above Lake Las Vegas. We went hiking with his den leader, DJ, and another scout named Jacob. It was the last thing Hunter needed to do before receiving his badge so on Thursday, October 22nd, he will officially cross the bridge from Cub Scouts to Boy Scouts.
