Meet Dayzee

I just realized we don't have a picture of Dayzee and Khloee on our website. They are the best dogs. We love them!

This is Dayzee. She is so sweet and so loving. As you can see in this picture she also loves Hunter. Why else would she let him dress her up like this? She likes to snuggle with you when you lie down and if you are in a chair she loves to lie on your feet. She doesn't like to be alone. She sleeps on the floor by Hunter's bed or outside his door all night to watch over him. Dayzee has had a tough year. Not long after we got Khloee, Dayzee ended up with two torn ACL's and had to have knee surgery on her back legs. That was tough to decide to do the surgery or not but we decided to do it. It has been 5 months since her last surgery and she is doing pretty well. She is still a little stiff when she gets up after she has been laying around but once she is up she is good. She used to be so patient with Khloee but I now know it was because she didn't feel well. She doesn't let Khloee get away with to much now that she is feeling 100% better.

Hunter's Birthday

Hunter turned 10 years old on October 22nd. When I asked him what he wanted for his birthday his reply was always "I would give anything to go to Smackdown vs. Raw". (Incase you don't know what that is, it is World Wrestling Entertainment.) By the time he told me this, I thought the tickets would be all sold out so I told him we wouldn't be able to go. I started to feel bad about not even checking for the tickets so I called the box office. I got really lucky. There were two tickets right on the floor. I bought them but stuck to my story of they were "all sold out". I wanted to surprise him. On the night of the event, I picked him up from school and headed towards the Thomas & Mack Center. Earlier I had put the tickets above the visor so I asked him to hand me something from above it. When he pulled down the visor, the tickets fell into his lap. He was so excited. You can see just how excited by the picture.
I thought it was a long, loud night but he loved being right in the middle of all the action and seeing his favorite wrestler, Jeff Hardy. I had also given him the Jeff Hardy armbands, shirt, pants, choker and hat and now he thinks HE is Jeff Hardy. He spends a lot of time trying to do flips in the air which he has found out isn't that easy. He now flips on the couch and on his bed. He loves going to Grandma's because she has a trampoline and he can have his own wrestling match in the backyard. He tells me he is now the World Wrestling Champion. Nobody is safe from his wrestling. Dayzee and Khloee try to run and hide from him when they see him get out his wrestling stuff.

Halloween 2008

In the years past, Hunter has always wanted to be something cute for HALLOWEEN but this year he wanted to be something really scary. I guess when you are 10 you can't be something cute any more. While we were shopping for a costume, I tried my best to sway him towards the less frightening costumes but he was having none of it. Finally, I gave up and let him pick whatever he wanted. He looked at every costume once or twice and then finally decided on this one. It wasn't my favorite and maybe it was a little to scary but he liked it and since I was going with him I thought it would be okay.

We went trick-or-treating with Khara and Paydon. Hunter was a Zombie and Paydon was a Zombie Slayer. They had a great time. We went to one house that was decorated very creatively. They had witches and ghosts and a mummy around the door and they had a web strung between the palm trees. You had to be careful or you would run right into the web. Well Paydon and Hunter thought it was silly and they weren't scared at all...that is until they got up to the door. All of a sudden the witch and the mummy started making sounds and a hand came from out of no where. The boys turned to run to the car and ran right into the web. The homeowner tried to get them to come back to get their candy but they weren't going to get close to that door again. Finally, the hand threw their candy to them down the side walk.

It was a fun evening but Khara and I couldn't help noticing that trick-or-treating was different than when we were little kids. We used to love to run down the streets trying to hit every house possible and get as much candy as we could before the adults made us go home. Not Paydon and Hunter. After two neighborhoods they were done. Maybe the mummy was just to much for them.
