Orchestra Concert

This year Hunter is learning how to play the Cello. After a lot of practice, he had his first concert last week and he did a great job. I am so proud of him.

Thanksgiving

Hunter and I had a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner with Brian & Pam. We are so thankful for our family, our friends & our many blessings. After dinner Brian & Hunter played football & basketball on the PS3 while Pam & I talked then we all watched a movie.

(Brian & Pam prefer not have their picture posted so we will post a picture of our delicious turkey instead and just in case you are wondering, those bottles are sparkling grape juice.)

Too Much Turkey

Hunter and Khloee really enjoyed Thanksgiving. From the way they look in this picture, one would think they enjoyed a little too much turkey.

The Nuggets

It has been a great season. Under the direction of Coach Ken, the Nuggets finished out the season on top. They lost one game, tied one game and won the rest of them. The team started out playing pretty good but after a few weeks with Coach, things really came together and they were on fire, everyone kept improving their skills and in the end they were a winning team. It was a fun season to watch.

Tall Is Good

This kid was a little taller than Hunter but he wasn't able to get the ball from him.

The same  kid taking the ball to the hoop but Hunter said "not in my house" and shut him down.

Neither Hunter nor Ethan were going to let this kid score and end the teams winning streak.

Watch This...

Any one who knows Hunter knows that he loves to jump on the trampoline. When he is at grandma's house, he spends 50% of the time in the backyard on the trampoline.

I sure am glad he made it all the way over the pole.

Scary Monsters & A Fairy

Cortney & Andy invited Hunter to spend the Halloween weekend at their house. He had a great time. He went to the middle school and helped Andy with Taigon's class party then went to the elementary school parade to watch Bailee. They carved pumpkins, made Halloween cookies, went trick-or-treating and had a party with Alisha & Kevin and Jeni & Jeremie and their families which included bobbing for apples.

Pumpkin Carving - What To Carve

Pumpkin carving takes some time...you have to pick your design

Pumpkin Carving - This Feels Gross

You have to take out all of the squishy, slimey insides of the pumpkin. Yuck!

Pumpkin Carving - How Many Holes

Poking through all those tiny holes on the design pattern takes forever.

Pumpkin Carving - Finished

And hope for a great end result...Hunter's pumpkin is the last one on the right.

Bobbing For Apples

Bobbing for apples was a lot of fun but the water was so cold. Thank you Cortney & Andy for so much fun.

Sky Mania

Hunter has been asking to go to Sky Mania for weeks so I thought that would be a fun place for him to go with a couple of friends for his birthday. Hunter, Paydon and Ethan were planning to go then Ethan's mom told me and Hunter that Shane (Ethan's dad) has wanted to go there for a while so Hunter invited him to go. They had a great time but after jumping around on wall to wall trampolines for 1 hour straight, they were all a little tired.

Happy Birthday

Hunter started the day by waking up to a room full of balloons and being trapped inside his room. Then he went outside and opened the garage door to streamers and more balloons. Hunter has a great friend, Ethan, and his mom had stopped by in the night to decorate the garage. Hunter loved it but said, "that Chantelle is crazy".

Birthday 2010

It was Hunter's choice of where to go for his birthday dinner. I was afraid he was going to choose Chili's because that seems to be his favorite place to eat but my least favorite place. I was so happy when he chose to stay home, watch a movie, order pizza, open his gifts and eat cake.

Basketball

Hunter really likes basketball and has been playing in a league at Desert Breeze Rec Ctr for the past 3 seasons. This season he is playing for Coach Ken and so far they are undefeated. It's the best season so far. Go Nuggets!!!

Time Flies

I can hardly believe that in just a few days, Hunter will be 12 years old. It seems like just yesterday that this picture was taken. Where did the time go?

Silly Glasses

What do you think of Hunter's 6th grade school picture? I love it! Of course this isn't his real school picture but it is kind of funny. We were at Party City the other day and Hunter found these silly glasses and wanted to wear them all over the store. He is such a clown. One characteristic he picked up from his Grandpa Larry...he loves to clown around and tease people. Grandpa would be so proud.

Hunter Graduates from Elementary School

Hunter graduated from 5th grade and is excited but a little nervous about starting 6th grade in the Middle School. 5th grade was fun for him. He studied hard and ended the year with mostly "A's" but there were a few "B's"in there as well. His class had the "Great American Challenge" which required him to learn and name past and present presidents, the Gettysburg Address, the Star Spangle Banner, the Preamble to the U.S. Constitution, and all of the states and their capitals. I was very proud of him being able to accomplish this and even though I hate to admit it, I don't remember those things. He received a trophy for completeing the challenge which he was proud to show off. He also completed and graduated from the D.A.R.E. program this year. He learned a lot of things this past year, had good teachers, made some great friends and had a lot of fun. Hey...is his cap on backwards???
