One Angry Bird...

Halloween 2011

Oh No...He's A Teenager

For Hunter's 13th birthday, he wanted to go play Laser Tag so off we went.  I had never played before and my score showed it.  It didn't help that Hunter, Ethan and Paydon ganged up against me and kept shooting me before I even figured out how to use my laser gun.  The boys played 4 games and after the last game, every one sang Happy Birthday to Hunter and then shot him with a toilet paper gun.  I didn't have my camera ready to catch it all but I did get a picture at the end.  He could be a mummy for Halloween with all the toilet paper on him.

Grandma Jana In Vegas

Grandma Jana came to visit for a few days and while she was here the boys wanted to go miniature golfing.  At the end of the game, I was the winner with 56, Paydon finished with 57 and Hunter had 68 which was the reason for the not-so-happy look on his face in the pictures below.  Even though golf didn't go well for all of us, we did enjoy having grandma in town for the weekend.

Paydon & Hunter

To avoid a boring, long, hot, summer in Las Vegas, Hunter wanted to go to Utah and stay with Andy & Cortney and their family.  Fortunately for him, they allowed him to spend 2 months hanging out with them and joinging them for all their summer activities.

Lagoon

Hunter loves to go to amusement parks so he was excited when he found out they would be going to Lagoon.  Alisha and Jeni's families also went to Lagoon.  They were there when the gates opened and they stayed until time to lock up.  The rode all the rides and had a great time.  Even on the ride that got a little too close to the waterfall.

Seven Peaks

Everyone had so much fun at Lagoon, the next big activity was a day at Seven Peaks Water Park.  I am not sure whether Hunter loves amusement parks or water parks more but I do know they are both some of his favorite things to do.

Provo Falls & Wyoming

They went to the Provo Falls and since they were so close to the Wyoming stateline they decided to drive into Wyoming and see what was happening there.

A Parade, Race Cars & Bumper Boats

Every year for the 24th of July celebration, there are a lot of activities including a parade down main street. This year Hunter rode a float and if you are wondering why he was dressed as a dog...it is because he was on the Animal Control float. He had fun but was so hot in that costume.

There was even some time for a lap or two around the race track and some time in the bumper boats this summer.  Bailee was along for the ride in case Hunter needed a relief driver.

Hunter & Khloee

While Hunter was building a model car, Khloee decided she wanted to see what was going on. I think she enjoys chasing balls more...she looks a little bored in the 2nd picture.

Las Vegas Wranglers

On Friday night we went with our ward (West Oquendo) to the hockey game to see the Las Vegas Wranglers take on the Victoria King Salmon. The young men & young women sold hockey pucks & at the end of the 2nd period everyone who bought a puck was able to throw them onto the ice in hopes of getting closest to the center circle & win a prize. After the winner was chosen, the young men & young women had to go onto the ice and pick up all the pucks. I am not sure who won the prize but I know that I didn't win...nor did the LV Wranglers who lost 2 to 0.

Top of the Bridge

In January 2005 construction began on the Colorado River Bridge at Hoover Dam. We have watched it being built for 5 1/2 years & in October 2010 is was finally finished. We decided it would be fun to walk across the bridge & we were enjoying the view until we looked over the side & saw the ground 1,000 feet below us. Yikes...that is a long way down.

Bridge From Hoover Dam

These two pictures were taken from Hoover Dam looking back at the bridge. Hunter & I were standing right in the middle of it.
